Wymondham Tennis Club is Seeking a New Head Coach for Ketts Park

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen - Wymondham Tennis Club is seeking a self-employed head tennis coach to deliver a comprehensive community tennis coaching programme at Ketts Park, in Wymondham, Norfolk.

Ketts Park is operated by South Norfolk Council’s leisure team and its tennis courts are run jointly by the Council and Wymondham Tennis Club, through its committee of volunteers. The tennis coach will be working closely with both organisations, to help drive tennis coaching and participation in the local area and encourage healthy, active lifestyles within the community.

Wymondham Tennis Club is a friendly club and accessible for anyone wanting to play tennis, regardless of ability. The club offers a variety of playing opportunities for all ages & standards, from beginners through to league players and has men’s, women’s and mixed teams in local leagues. Club sessions are held on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6pm and members are also able to book the courts at other times.

It is important that the coach will be able to deliver tennis to a wide audience and engage people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. The focus will be on growing membership at the club, increasing tennis participation and community engagement and generating additional revenue for the club and South Norfolk Council.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion to inspire new and existing tennis players and has an entrepreneurial flair and an ability to work collaboratively and think creatively.

The Venue:

Ketts Park provides 4 newly refurbished modern tennis courts with LED floodlights. One of the courts is also marked out to allow netball to be played. Tennis bookings are made through ClubSpark.

The wish is for the tennis courts and club to be an integral part of the local community and aim to deliver a year-round programme of tennis activity and coaching.

The community facility at Ketts Park also provides a full-size 3G football pitch and natural turf pitches. Added to this, there is a fitness/ activity hall and a community building with changing rooms, toilets and a café area, plus a large, free car park is available.

There are also tennis courts available at Framingham Earl Sports Centre, another site operated by South Norfolk Council leisure, out of school hours. As part of this role, there may also be an opportunity for the coach to be part of enhancing and growing tennis provision and coaching at this venue as well.
