Corona Virus Update 4th March

Should I be playing tennis?

Just wanted to update all members about the current situation regarding the Covid-19 virus. The committee have been monitoring advice from HM Government & the LTA over the past 7 days.

The LTA is in continual dialogue with Government who have indicated that physical exercise that takes place at a safe distance from others & in safe exercise environment (e.g. outdoors) can be continued at this time PLUS The Department of Culture, Media & Sport has specifically advised the LTA that tennis ticks all the boxes & should be encouraged as long as all other guidelines are followed.

Our courts at Ketts Park are open for social tennis & coaching sessions unless the above advice changes.

PLEASE DON’T COME TO PLAY TENNIS IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OR ARE SELF-ISOLATING FOR ANY REASON, FOLLOW ADVICE ON NHS WEBSITE AT ALL TIMES

If you do come to play please follow hand washing/sanitising procedures, avoid the traditional handshakes, don’t swap rackets & best not to congregate in the clubhouse.

I would encourage you to support our coach Sam by joining his sessions & maybe booking some coaching singularly or in small groups. We understand that some of you may choose not to play for now, we look forward to seeing you in the future.
Keep safe everyone
