Great to see lots of members booking the courts & getting back to tennis in the recent glorious weather. With all 3 courts now available there are plenty of slots to book.
A reminder that it is essential that everyone is familiar with Covid guidelines as set out on the booking platform & that these are followed when playing.
With further lockdown easing it is now possible for doubles play with people from different households & guidelines about balls have been relaxed; it is now OK for a 4 to share balls if all agree, these should still be marked to prevent mixing with balls from other courts. The 2 metre rule must be observed too. Further details can be found on the LTA website.
Club coach Sam Howlett has started one to one coaching & is hoping to get some group cardio sessions (5 people max) going soon. Contact Sam Howlett direct for more information firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are missing competitive tennis a league/ladder competition will be launched in the next 2 – 3 weeks, probably singles only to start with. Let us know if you are interested in getting involved either playing or helping with the admin.
The Clubhouse remains closed for now as it is a confined space & it would be difficult to ensure that all public health/hygiene requirements were being met. Traditional club nights are on hold until gatherings of greater than 6 are permitted, even then the logistics of ball management, etc may make them difficult to operate.
All members should have had details about membership fees from Roger Tudor this weekend. The committee hope everyone will find his solution equitable, I’m sure you appreciate it that it is not an easy problem to solve.
Enjoy your tennis everyone
