Norfolk LTA Club of the Year
We were runner up to Blofield, who incidentally celebrated their centenary.
We were however awarded the President’s commendation which will be presented by the new LTA Chair and President Roy Colabawalla at Cromer Tennis Club on the 4th June. A big thank you to all our members who nominated our club and whose work over the last 12 months in building our membership and improving our facilities put us in the running for this award.
Team news
Our winter mixed team achieved the club’s objective of gaining promotion this season to division 4 in a deciding match at North Elmham with a win guaranteeing at least second place in the division. Our thanks to everyone who played and to their captain Mary Howell.
Rusty Rackets
Our second course was full with 12 participants braving the sometimes cold weather. We have invited them, and the 8 from the course last year, to play in club organised sessions to be held on at 2pm Saturday afternoons from the 29th March and / or the Monday 10am social sessions.
If you would can help out on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm to welcome them and organise some fours to play please let us know so we can arrange a rota of members via this link Icanhelp
As the second course was over subscribed we will be organising a third one in the summer term. We appreciate the time and effort from coaches Sam and Katie on making these sessions so successful.
