Wymondham Singles League Conclusion

Wymondham's Tennis Singles League came to a conclusion on Sunday 06/10/24 as both the Best-Of-The-Rest Final and the Final took place, accompanied by supportive spectators, cake and tea!

So first result of the day was the Best of the rest. 

With a first round loss to Chris Harmer, 
But then a solid win against Andy Eldershaw
And a grueling 3 setter again Alan Dynes. 

Peter Elphick took the trophy and a prize of a bottle of honey Mead from Elementals Magical Emporium with a great match against Matt Flanders.

It was a great match and Peter put on a show returning some absolutely blasted balls from Matt incredibly consistently.

Second result of the day, the Main Draw Final..... Was an absolute mammoth match and definitely worthy of being a final! 

Final score ended up being 6-4, 3-6, 7-6........ 

With a bye in the first match, a good win against Duncan and beating Jasper in 3 sets only 2 days ago, 

Callum managed to dig in and take the final match. 
He won the Wymondham Champions trophy, a voucher for the queen's head and a tube of balls. 

Jack put up an incredible battle coming back from 4-1 down in the final set to take it to tie break, he won a lesson with Sam and some balls.

Finally, and most importantly, a huge thanks to Mike Wonnacott for organising the event, ensuring fixtures were played and for organising the prizes! A fantastic event played in great spirits by all, thanks again Mike!
